Honda CBR 600F wheelie advice please.

I have been riding for two years now and recently got a CBR 600 about 4 months ago. I am going to try and wheelie my bike for the first time when the weather gets a bit better. I was wondering about how many revs you need roughly then to let the clutch out. I have wheelie a small 125 and that was full revs and let the clutch straight out, obviously i don't really want to do this one my CBR or i will be lying on my back.

I have done a power wheelie with a pillion on back, not very high and it caught me of guard as i felt the front go extremely light.

Any tips would be good, am planning on just starting at 2rpm then working up untill i feel the front coming up.

Next question would be stoppies but i don't fancy righting my bike off just yet.

i dont have a cbr so i cant tell you the exact amout but the best way is to start low down the rev range and work up - this way you will get the wheel up gradually without flipping the bike

On my CBR it's fairly easy, I just don't have the balls to 'keep it up'
In first gear about 6k revs, just close the throttle and 'snap' it open again the further you open it in the snap, the higher it will go.

now keeping it up without suddenly coming off the revs through panic is a different issue.

It will come up easy, just be safe !.....

I do find however if I'm trying to be gentle it doesn't work, it's all in the wrist

If you put a smaller spocket on the front when you next change the chain, it goes up even easier! You need to learn to flick the clutch out, there have been a couple of good articles in the mags over the past few months on how to do it properly which helped me.

I've had a year of experience on a 2004 cbr 600f. At first I used to do power wheelies but I wasn't too fond of them because by the time I was near the balance point the revs would be near 13k or something. It could be that I suck and it's rider error, anyhow when I used the clutch it was much better.

Go to around 20 kmh on first, the rpm should be around 5k, pull the clutch in give it some throttle til it gets to 7k and let the clutch out. I think the fornt will go off the floor but not that high, but I think thats where you should start. Then feed more revs till your comfortable with the height and everything.

You can also lift it up in second with the clutch but you have to bounce it up.

If you are going to use the clutch then get used to using just your index finer with it. Then do it when you start wheelieing your bike. Gives you alot more control over the handlebars.

Bearing in mind doing that on a Fazer caught me out completely and I was not in control of it in the slightest, I might not be the best to take advice from.

Start at low revs, dump the clutch and see what happens.

Gradually build up your revs and you'll work out how much gets you where.
