My hornet as shown below has a front fairing on it as you will see but on looking at others around including new ones I see that they dont have these. Do you think mine was manufactured with it or is it possible it was added on after, I would value your opinions on this please since I have not and cannot find others like it.

Its a Hornet S.

Its standard. Stock. From the factory.

Kev had one as a loan bike a little while back. They burned it out until the tyre popped and coolant pissed out.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

according to the UBG , the S version or the Hornet was dropped from the range around 01/02 dunno why though after riding miles in the rain and wind a screen seems a good proposition

THey new (post03) hornets didnt come in yellow but you can get Cool white ones. The silly even newer hornet, comes in daft colours like "bronze" rarther than traditional colours like blue or yellow.

They dropped the S hornets cus they went very popular, I think they were aimed at the german market where the hornet didnt take to well. The softer CBF600 has taken its place for the german/europeian market.

I.G. check out gallery 21 for my old Hooner, same colour as yours, stonking little bike, wouldn't hesitate getting another.

The little Hornet can mix it with the best of 'em,very understated bike IMO.

That would make my model a collectors item then in yrs to come, lol!
I'm not keen on the new colour they do now, the bronze/orangy colour, not keen on red bikes anyway, it has to be blue or black for me.
I always think the Hornet as a females bike, no offence to you guys, a good first bike for me Thumbs Up

My faired Hornet's the same...only with a taller aftermarket screen.
It's model number is CB600FS - you should see it in the manual too for extra peace of mind. Thumbs Up

As for it being an idea bike for a girl, I can see that. It's comfy, fairly upright and easy to drive. Strangely my new BMW R1100S (despite being a more crouched and sporty riding position) is lower to the ground and is actually much easier with a pillion than the Hornet.

Well, I picked the hornet up today, it was pouring down too, not the best day to pick up a new bike eh but been out and about getting to know her. Very happy, got on better than I expected going from a 125, glad I went ahead and got it, just want to ride, ride and ride now, lol!

Not a fab piccy at all, very wet and taken with a mobile phone:
