Anyone with an RXS100 or similar 2t bike.

My oil warning light keeps coming on and I have about 1/3 tank of 2t oil in. My gearbox oil is at the right level and has just been changed <500miles. The oil light comes on when the bike moves about and is on the side stand.


Is this normal just because there isn't too much oil in the 2t tank?

Or is there somethigng majorly wrong?

I wouldent worry aslong as its not on when youve got the bike in a direct upright position and not moving. Its strange because if your bike is like mine it has a "reserve" part of the 2stroke tank, as soon as this starts getting used, the light comes on....Sounds like maybe a faulty sensor to me.

like most old 2t's there should be a sensor in your 2 stroke tank, mines like a float assembly, when it drops below a certain point my oil light comes on.

check the wiring etc. on your sensor just in case

As N30 says usually a float sensor - and on the RXS the oil light comes on when you still have about 150 miles worth of oil in the tank....
