Have you tried flushing throught the oil? If you've got really old or cheap oil it can have this effect. When I got my bike it had been stoood for about 5 years not going anywhere and was full of gunk. When I started it I gassed everyone around. I flushed it through with some cheap oil first, than put some TTS in (cos it's fully synthetic it will clear out all the gunge).

My bike starts pretty lean now, and it smells lovely too!

Its just your oil hasn't got properly up to temperature so its not sticking to the cylinder walls. Its fairly normal. MMmmm the smell of two stroke in the morning.

My NSR is just 6 months old. With the cold weather we've been havin my exhaust has been smoking a lot after choke starting; as previous post said, because the oil ain't heated up enough. Also found when temp has been below zero overnight, after choke starting in the morning I get loadsa smoke, the engine has cut out when idling because she was too cold (restarts right away tho) after a mile or two running shes ok.

Usuing Honda Two Stroke Oil at the minute. Question: do have have to frush the stuff out to use Castrol TTS?, or will it be ok to top up?

My new NSR (2001) sometimes 'smokes' too. Using TTS oil, some days its ok, some days not.
