ok bare with the technically feeble....

Can anyone tell me how to charge a battery using....yes...a battery charger...do i need to unbolt the tank,which'd just be a pain in the...bottom cos i've got a dampner and like i say i really am feeble.
tried jumping it got nout,apart from a mild cardiac scare.
Anyway any tips or advice will be great

Can't you get to the battery under the front seat? If not I'd be inclined to permanently fit some charging leads to the battery to same the problem in the future.

Clamp the -ve terminal of the charger to a bare (unpainted) bit of engine.

Clamp the +ve terminal to any bit of the bike that's fed from the +ve terminal of the battery. You're best bet would be to follow the thick cable coming from the battery to the starter motor/solenoid and using that. Another good place is the main fuseholder, which is usually a bit more accessable under a side panel somewhere.

This means you're charging the battery with it still connected to the bikes' electrics. Something frowned on by some people, but totally ignored by me. At your own risk etc.
