Little project

Hi, normally with my little project's, experiments (most comonly balls up's ) i just jump straight in and replace it if it goes wrong
Bit strapped this month so that wont be the case hence the post,
enough ramblings......
I want to polish my wheels but i dont know if they are rough cast or not and would like to know because i dont fancy making them smooth if they are rough cast because they appear to be very rough

How the f*ck do you tell without removing the paint to see whats under neath?? wheels in question are from cbr 125r if that helps.....
