mates just bought a bike so we're going to do a few trips out. Looking at wales for a starter, anyone recommend any pod camping sites close to either a good pub or town?

Me and my other half try to go camping at least once a year (in the car, with a tent), but earlier this year we did our first Pod camping as it was only £30 a night as opposed to £15 for non electric tent pitch, and included electrickery, sofa bed, microwave and double glazed windows, it was ace as it was blowing a gale when we got there, so just chucked our stuff in and cracked open the cool box,

One family ended up turning round and going home as they couldn't pitch their tent it was that windy (i was in no state to help after sinking a few too many beers)

It's certainly something i will be looking at doing now that i have a bike though, though not with the Mrs in tow, lol

Might not be exactly what you are looking for, but there's these. Small town with two micro-breweries and mid-Wales on the doorstep.

...and if the weather gets you down I can recommend Totters Independent Hostel

A minute's walk from the Menai Strait, this simple hostel in a 200-year-old townhouse is also a 2-minute walk from Caernarfon Castle and a 5-minute walk from the town centre.

The straightforward dorms are single-sex dorms or mixed and feature lockers and linens. A private attic room adds en suite facilities. There's also a 3-bedroom townhouse (3-night minimum) across the road.

Free continental breakfast is served in the 14th-century basement dining room. Other amenities include a TV room, free WiFi and secure bike lock-up.
