Hi
Ah well. The FZR was not happy today. Not used it for a while and had to jump start it this morning. Then it did not want to start this evening so I pushed it to the top of the ramp at work and bump started it.
Came out of work and dropped the FZR. Front end just slid away. Not sure why (I had litterally just pulled out of work, and it is only 20 yards to the T junction at the end of the road.
Bike slid into the curb, wheels first. Guy stopped his car and helped me pick it up, and also helped me bump start it.
Chunk missing from the top fairing and a long crack, another bit missing from the side fairing and some scuffs, slightly scuffed can and slightly scuffed crank end cover. Mirror has gone all floppy as well.
Ooops.
All the best

I know how you feel Keith. I came out of work tonight on the gixer, turned right, little bit of throttle and lost the back end bike went 180° and threw me on my arse. But prise the R&G god! Only damage is a few scratches on the lower fairing from what I could see (a bit dark). My fault totally but felt a right plonker! ____________________ carbon bling |

Nooooo not the FZR are you going to get it fixed keith? If you just was a semi fix until you source some new panels on ebay I don't mind fibreglassing them up for you. |

Hi
Picked up some of the fragments of the fairing. Will have a play and see what I can do. Trouble is that starting out with fibreglass repairs will make it look far worse unless followed by a decent respray (and the panels are holding together OK now) so I will probably leave it for now. If matching panels turn up on Ebay then I will get them.
Pity I dropped it on the right. The left was already a bit scuffed up when I bought it.
All the best

One good thing about it is that the major damage is on the black bits which is an easy colour to match. The side fairing looks pretty easy to sort, the front probably would be a tad trickier. If you want a hand i'm more than willing.
I guess you will have some spare track fairing now No holding back on the bends any more Keith. |
