Im going to strip the paint off my wheels on sat so i have black and silver (alluminium) wheels, is this as simple as it sounds, by applying the paint stripper to the area, then polishing and finaly coating with a protective coating.

If so can anyone recommend any products, stripper, and protective coating that I can apply when doing it?

Do i need to take the tyres of the rims when doing it and will removing the wheels be difficult for a novice?
