So, me and my friend just picked up a fiat seicento for £40 thats sat in a field for a year.

Intending to cut out large parts of it, fit an engine in the back and have a laugh.

For those of you who dont know what the £999 challenge is, heres the link: https://www.ppcmag.co.uk/999-challenge.html

This is what were thinking so far:

Pics of the actual car when we pick it up.

Anybody else done it/doing it/thinking about doing it?

I've been reading the magazine for years, never considered doing the challenge though. You may be better off seeing what engine and box you can get into the front of your car. Don't worry about keeping any front bodywork that isn't structural, just try to squeeze a fiat coupe 16v turbo engine and box between the chassis legs.

Or just buy a fiat coupe and spend the remaining £750 on tyres and DIY tuning. Dump the interior, it's heavy.

If it's just a straight line race and then a bit of a slalom then NOS might be an attractive way to get lots of free horses Wink

I'm amazed by how cheaply some of the cars on there have been acquired - for example the winning GT4.

Under a grand for a GT4 of that shape?

Thinking

Yes, I did wonder that. It does look rather good for under 1k.
