when I bought my bike it had LED indicators on it which I don't like cause they're not noticable enough, so I want to change back to normal indicators. Is it just a case of changing the actual indicators or is there any rewiring or stuff to be done? I ask this cause a lot of LED indicators need extra relays and stuff, not sure if I've got any though.

Finally, if I change the indicators only and it seems to work is that ok or is something likely to blow?

Hi

Depends how they were bodged on. LEDs (I think) need resistors in the circuit, but likely any LED indicatots will have these built in.

Likelyhood is that you can just put the original indicators back on with little effort (assuming whoever fitted the LED ones did not butcher the wiring connectors). With mini (non LED) indicators people often change the flasher replay as well, so you might need to swap that as well.

All the best

Keith

The problem with LED indicators is that they draw much less electricity than standard bulbs. This makes the flasher relay work at the wrong speed (similar effect when one bulb has blown).
The fix is either to use a different flasher unit, or to increase the load with a resistor.
Some indicators will have the resistor built in, in which case they are a straight swap for bulbs, so changing back is a straight swap too.
If the resistor is fitted at the flasher relay it should be obvious, and easy to remove.
If the relay has been changed, it should be equally obvious, cos it'll look something like this:

If the total bulb rating is within the specification of the relay, it'll be fine. Don't forget to include the idiot light (and all four indicators if you've got a hazard warning switch).

Worst case - it blows the flasher relay and possibly the fuse, depending how the relay fails. Shouldn't damage anything else.

If it doesn't move but should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move but does, use the Duct Tape.

Have you had a look at the LED bulbs installed? The previous owner might have installed some el-cheapo LED's. Try replacing them with some super bright ones with wide dispersion angles. It will probably cost the same as going back to normal bulbs, but workout cheaper in the long run, as LED's hardly ever fail. https://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=44&products_id=741
