For sale near me is a CZ125, 2001, which has the little end and the rectifier gone. It's *very* cheap. But - does anyone know what the bike actually is? 2t or 4t? And what do they look like?

I need another project bike to keep me busy, and this seems pretty good. If it's a 2t should be a piece of cake to get back going.

I'm really not bothered by looks, just as long as you can get bits for them Smile I've rebuilt 2 scooters before, and own and maintain my NSR, and now I want a crack at rebuilding a proper bike.

Cheers for any advice,
Jon

That's no disc brake. That's a huge sprocket!

Hub on the front.

Unfortunately, no-one has the 2001 model, or anything near it...

No, that's what's puzzling me too... there's loads of older ones, but I can't find any decent pics of anything near a 2001 model Confused

This one is also road legal (got an MOT), and all the ones I've seen seem to be dedicated off-road machines.

The one I showed was a 2001, unfortunately the big version of it has vanished. They seem to be very uncommon bikes!

Let me know if you buy it, as I want it! Laughing

I'm just worrying about parts avaliabilty now... they do seem well rare, so getting parts is going to be nigh on impossible, I bet!

Possibly, but that model I had was a 2001, and a 2004 model is registered on BikePics.

Turns out it's a Honda. Parts are another matter though, I suspect.

Hi

My guess would be that it is one of the CZ built Cagivas. Think they were basically a low tech air cooled version of the Cagiva Blues (late 80s custom styled thing) / Cagiva Roadster (90s aircooled version of the bike).

https://www.bikepics.com/pictures/436837/

Probably a fair chance that if I am right then you can get the bits through Cagiva.

All the best

Keith

I'm intrigued. As far as I knew, CZ stopped making road bikes back in the 80's. They merged with Jawa to form Jawa CZ.

They kept making offroad bikes, their crossers are bog basic but surprisingly good bikes so if you can get one for that sort of money, it is a good buy providing the frame is straight.

Do not expect Japanese style build quality if it is like the CZs I am used to but you can be astoundingly rough and ready with your spannering on them, everything is very simple and designed for home maintainance.

Try www.mz-b.de for spares, they are a German company who specialise in 2-strokes from former eastern block countries, fast and efficient as you would expect from a German company. 48 hour delivery on spares from stock.

I would be very interested to see a photo of a 2001 CZ125 road bike for sale in the UK, I am something of an eastern block 2-stroke anorack and I wasn't aware that any such thing existed.

So what's the general concensus, yay or nay? I've wasted more than £70 before, so I might just buy it and take a chance... if I could get it going, it would certainly be different.. "unique" I suppose!

Hi

If it is what I think it is then buy it. Worst comes to the worst you can sell the bits on Ebay for more than £70.

Found this page which I suspect is the model.

Also found this about the Cagiva / CZ agreement. From memory the whole deal went sour.

All the best

Keith

Well, when you get it take some pics. I have a workshop manual for the Cagiva Blues at home and if it is similar then I will try scanning it in.

All the best

OK, just spoke to the guy, he said it's a Jawa CZ 125 Confused Apparently it runs, but knocks, and the garage have said it's the little end bearing. Also its a 2002 bike! Newer than my NSR, lol.

So now I'm looking through bikepics for Jawa's...
