Simple question.

I never know which option to go for;

Starting Price?

or

Reserve?

I think using the reserve option cost some pennies, not sure if its fixed or a %?

Which is the better way to sell things?

BTW im hoping for a sale price of about £6000 for a car.

Personally I don't like reserve auctions.

They mean that I can bid on something, be the highest bidder and still not win, wasting everyone's time if it's a vehicle as I'll have asked a load of questions about it, etc.

So, I may even not bid.

If you are confident people will bid, you can sometimes get more interest by starting at a lower price and getting a friend to put a first bid on of what you conisder your lowest selling price.
However if it doesn't reach this, then it causes more complications.

If you want to put a reserve on, tell them what the reserve is..then they know what to bid.

Otherwise use no reserve and a low start price which tends too generate more interest and gets people bidding.

High start prices put me right off as do reserves as I dont know what to bid.

You do know it costs £24.00 to list a car on ebay?

Maybe a reserve is good if it's over a certain price like £1k as i think it's only £2.50 not sure, Go for it

Also say that the car is being advertised elswhere & you have the right to withdraw at anytime.
