Does anyone know how to change a clutch cable in one of these (F Reg)?

The cable snapped so ive trailed it back, took off the plastic case and disconnected it but it seems theres 2 cable branching off from 1 going to the carb i think.

How do i take it off (and put a new one in)?

Thanks Folks.

Ray

If part of said cable goes to the carburettor, I should think you have got the throttle cable, without knowing for sure. Trace it down from the top if you haven't already. Changing a clutch cable (on a simpler machine, I'm sure there are exceptions) is just like changing the cable on a bicycle brake.

The throttle cable splits in two - one goes to the carb, the other to the oil pump. The clutch cable should only be one line straight from the lever to the clutch.

If it's the throttle cable you need to see where the break is. You might need to unscrew the top of the carb and pull the slide out. You will see the cable end on the underside.

The clutch cable is easier - slacken off the lever and line up the gap in the adjuster and locknut. You should be able to pull the cable trough, and then unhook it from the lever. You should now be able to unhook it from the clutch end easily. When you attach the new cable, adjust it form the clutch end first for the correct freeplay, and then fine tune at the lever end.
