What's that all about then?

Edge 44 is the scheme that Hampshire run under the Bikesafe initiative in partnership with the Road Safety Unit of Hampshire County Council and the Police supported by the Motorcycle Industry Association. This is a rider assessment which lasts for about 4 hours and is conducted by one assessor to two riders where ideas and tips are exchanged on riding skills, other areas included are winter riding tips, suspension set-up, actions at the scene of a collision and security measures available for bikes and kit. The dates are arranged by mutual agreement between all of us.

How much is it?

The cost of this session is £65 but is a valuable way to improve the skills and abilities to help you survive and enjoy your riding.

Is this any different to the other bikesafe stuff that other forces do?

What else do I get?

The other privileges that are available on successful completion of the assessment are;-

- Discounts with over 80% of leading insurance companies.
- Savings on parts, accessories and clothing at many dealers and retailers.

- Regular updates of benefits and events helping you to get the most out of your riding.
- These benefits remain in place for three years from the successful completion of the assessment.

Where can I book or get more information from?

You can book online at
www.hants.gov.uk/roadsafety
Further info can be obtained by telephone 01962 846767

Are there any rider workshops where I can come and meet and chat?

During the spring and summer months there will be various rider workshops held at different locations and times where there will be a rider workshop staffed by Traffic Police Officers to discuss any fears or reservations that you may have. As soon as we have a calendar of events we will publicise it. The main events will be at British Superbikes – Thruxton, Motorcycle World Beaulieu, Crescent Suzuki Open Weekend. All that we ask for is common sense and help to help us reduce the amount of killed and seriously injured people involved in motorcycle collisions.

PEOPLE INTRESTED NOW????
