Hi

Found this on VisorDown:-

Hotrax wrote:

IMPORTANT: New Age Limits At MSV Circuits
We at Hottrax would like to inform you of a change to the age limits at Motorsport Vision Circuits. These are Brands Hatch, Snetterton, Oulton Park and Cadwell Park.
This notification is valid on all trackday bookings during 2006

The minimum age is raised to at least 18 for all trackdays, whether run by Hottrax or any other TDO
Riders must have either a valid ACU race licence to participate in our ACU groups or a full unrestricted road licence to participate in other groups

Other circuits that we operate at are still available to anyone over 16 years old with either an ACU licence or a road licence.

This restriction has been imposed on us by Motorsport Vision, if you require further clarification please contact them directly or alternatively you can call us on the number below.

We look forward to seeing you on our track days in the near future

Regards

All the best

Keith

Interesting.

18's got to be a legal thing rather than a licence thing. Maybe something to do with protecting themselves from lawsuits?

I never see the problem with someone on a 33bhp licence...

Maybe they think the bikes are too slow and will get in the way?
Maybe they think it's lack of experience? But then you get DAS riders on their spanking new R1 and highside coming out of the pits...

Hmm.

18 is prob as bendy says a legal thing. At 18 you are responcible for your self in they eyes of the law.
As for the full licence thing, they have always said you must have the corect licence to ride that type of bike. Again i suspect it is a legal thing, not encoraging people to remove restricers...

seems that they will be forced only to do ACU days

Hello,

I'm afraid to attend any trackday at all MSV venues with any track day operator
- you need a full bike licence which is unrestricted - sorry but this is part of
our insurance terms and conditions.

Regards,
Andrea.

I asked about the 33bhp licences a few days back and got that reply, Thumbs Down Dan

It's a nightmare for one of our racing buddies who races on a CB500 with our race club. He's 15-16 and needs to practice, but can't do Cadwell, Brands, Snetterton or Oulton, so he's going to be a little bit behind in his development and gear selections on everyone else!

Dam Lawyers and Nanny State Politics, ey?
