From about 11k revs onwards the revs shoot up and the bike revs but it doesnt pull any more power, does something need adjusting?

Bike is a 01 zx6r j2.

maybe suffering from clutch slip, your cluch may need adjusting. have you changed your oil recently?

No not changed the oil recently.

How and where do i adjust the clutch from?

Sounds like youve put car oil or something in it Laughing

Check your clutch cableslack and adjustment, if still no good give it an oil and filter change (wouldnt hurt it anyway probably!) if still no joy then it's new clutch plates (bout £50+ fitting)

on my 7R the clutch is hydrolic, is it the same on the 6R?
if its cable there should be an adjuster just above the clutch case cover, if its hydrolic is should be automatic

when the cable is pulled the clutch slips.

so you want to let some tension off the cable as it might be pulling slightly all the time.

so screw in the adjuster on the clutch lever.

start the bike, put it in 1st gear and let the clutch out slowly untill it bike begins to creap forwards, thats the biting point. adjust the cable tension untill the bite point is about half way along the levers movement.

Will try that tomorrow.

So i want to be adjusting it inwards and not outwards?

There's also a little pushrod thingy that can sometimes need adjusting. Maybe someone can explain it to better than I can. Embarassed

slacken the cable, ring spanner on the lock nut (usually 12/13/14mm), turn the slotted adjuster thingiemagummer inside the locknut until ya feel resistance, back it off 1/4 turn & tighten the lock nut. Thumbs Up

Then adjust the cable......
