Having this debate with my mate who firmly believes that the end of the world is when human life is eradicated.

Now to me the end of the world is when the actual planet itself is physically destroyed, not when human or any other sentient life is detroyed.

What do you lot think am i wrong and he right or are we both wrong? Confused

Personally I'd go for the 'when the planet' no longer exisits.

Humans will be long gone before that happens, probably from our own doing.

Humans are just a speck of dog turd on the path of the universe: pretty inconsequential. It depends how you define "the world" coming to an end. The human world comes to an end when the humans eradicate themselves, the planet will keep ticking on by without us just fine until the sun dies.
