Basically whenever i slow down to a near stop (e.g. traffic lights) my bike conks out. Thought it could be related to the cold but it isnt that cold!

Any help will be appreciated, Thanks

md divvy has been doing the same, but i put this down to the cold. the problem goes away after the bike is warmed up, is your idle speed adjusted correctly?

On your way home when you come to a stop while slowing down put it in neutral. If it still conks out then i would assume its the idle speed needs lifting slightly.

If it doesnt stop in neutral and the bike idles then your clutch isnt disengaging completely and the bike is stalling. Dont know what bike it is, but if you can get the rear wheel off the ground, start it up put it in first, hold in the clutch as see if the rear wheel is still turning

the weather shouldnt be an issue especially if it did it all the way to work on a 20 mile trip, as it would have had tons of time to warm up.

what was the performance like on the way, you didnt leave the choke on by chance?

what bike is it?

The bike is a Suzuki RF600. I checked the clutch and the bike was experencing problems right from when i left my house till i got to work.

Will try what you suggested on the way home. Thanks Thumbs Up

Managed to get home!

Altered the idle speed and that stopped the conking out but the bike still feels funny, when i rev its like its not picking up all the revs and takes longer to build up speed.
I think it could be part of the pump's blocked? but was wondering if anyone more knowlegable can offer any help?
Thanks

I am experiencing something similar on my ZXR. When riding through the gears, sometimes its as if its slow to go through the rev range, then the next gear change, or pull away, its a fecking drag bike Twisted Evil

Its as if the bike sometimes doesn't want to rev past a certain limit.....then it does Confused

Thought it was maybe me for not getting the clutch control right, nt sure though, as happens when rolling throttle back and not changing gears as well

Check the plugs, my bike would just about run on just two cylinders, but was really crap (no surprise!) and just felt lumpy on three but would die if I stopped quickly. It would also cut out if I turned the lights on or used the indicators.

Carb balance can have a similar effect.

This why I am keen to try a dyno run, to evaluate the performance of the engine and help return the ZXR to a GIXER basher Twisted Evil

I think the bike needs a service anyway Embarassed
