Tastes and Smells

Urgh, I have had a severe cold for the past week and now things are starting to be a bit better however absolutely everything smells and tastes weird.

Is this normal?

definatly the cold or flu affects your taste buds. will clear up soon. if you smoke the taste would even turn you off smoking when having a fag.

Fags taste worse when its cold. i remember last winter, i was recovering from the flu (which is THE most irritating virus possible)
and went outside for a fag. and it tasted like the smell of mouldy cardboard. just a foul dank dry shitty taste. i thought it was the fags as they were new and bought off an islam at school. so could be dodgy. so i threw them out. bought 20. same. upon realising my cock up, was ashamed. and went to bed.

How bad is the cold because i caught a bug in a club & was so i'll i didn't eat for 5 days lol, i didn't get that hungry but whenever i put a piece of food to my mouth i'd be sick or i couldn't drink to much as it would make me feel sick. I ordered a pizza & it tasted bad. I was very weak too.

I went to the doctors & he gave me this sachet of black current stuff that disolves when you mix it with water, so it was getting my levels back up again without eating, worked good.

Story of events: -

Monday, fine up until about midday, came over with a sudden high temperature felt fucked. Went to work that evening felt a bit better.

Tuesday, girlfriend came down with food poisoning, but I felt fine until midday, then developed another high temperature, went to bed but couldn't sleep heart was beating really fast.

Wednesday, absolutely fucked, the worst cough in the world, a sore throat such as I couldn't swallow anything

Thursday bit better, but complete loss of appetite, couldn't smoke tasted crap. Terrible Nausea.

Friday, feeling much better but with an annoying constant cough. Again Terrible Nausea.

Today: - Well, still got a bit of a tickly cough, just very tired and still can't smoke. Or Eat.

Me AND the missus both got the same flu same time, and we literally get the exact stages and the same times, apart from today where she hasnt got the sore throat of death.

But i felt really really stoned with a temperature and headaches for about 4 days straight, lots of nausea.
That started easing off and it was just a really sore throat
Then yesterday i had more snot then ive even seen before... it was like a peter north film every time i got caught out with a sneeze
And today i just cant shift this sore throat... unless im drinking tea.

Sore throats are the worst. I usually try the same as you 'tea' I do like hall soothers or tunes as it helps a bit.

The Nausea is something I have never experienced before in a non sickness bug type illness, it is probably the worst feeling ever.

I will back you up there, i thought it was something i ate at first because i had 'Chiken wings' the night before & i havn't touched one since. I feel sorry for you because i know how bad it is. Aint you thought of seeing a doctor?

It's either the Flu or a cold, they are viruses which the body will fight themselves. Doctors can do fuck all.

Yes he said the same thing 'don't know what it was' but he did give me something to drink which helped & felt better.

They said i'd caught a bug. I was in a packed club the night before so could of been a bug from someone or the chicken i didn't cook properly Sick

It would be an effort to get out of bed & bright lights felt pretty bad. Never again i hope!!
