Hi
I'm new to chat forums and even newer to biking so I need a little help on both subjects please.
I have just purchased a Hongdou CTM 125 as my first bike but the wiring seems to be messed up.
I have no electric start but the kick start works fine, I was told that if I want to use the electric start I would have to bypass the solenoid????????????
Also the speedo does not work and the dash panel does not light up.
If possible I need a wiring diagramme or some advice from someone.
Please help if you can
Many Thanks
Pascoe

Hi Pascoe.

Welcome to BCF. Thumbs Up

First off, your bike isn't as popular as say a Honda CG125. It is basically, a cheap 'chinese' copy. Not necessarily a bad bike in that respect but it doesn't spell out any hope if you are looking for a 'haynes' manual.

I'm no professional on the wiring of motorcycles, infact I am what you might call a "complete n00b". However, the only thing I can suggest is you try download some manuals for similar, popular bikes. Such as the cg125. It will never be the same but it may be the closest you'll get to a guide. This is however, no guarantee.

You could also email the hongdou importers (sellers on ebay and google for some) and ask them that you have just bought a 'new' one and could they possibly help. etc etc etc. Smile

Speedo cable will be attached to the front wheel. Take it off completely (one end off the speedo instrument, the other of the fork leg) and check that the innards are complete (i.e spin one end and check that the other is spinning. You'll see what I mean when you take it off)

Dash panel lighting, check for any loose connections. Could always take the clocks apart if you are feeling brave enough. You may just find it is a bulb that needs replacing.

Cheers

Greg

Thanks for the reply.
I will try what you have suggested and hopefully it will solve some if not all of the problems I am having.
I will let you know how I get on.
Once again thanks

Pascoe
