I know this is a long shot... but does anyone know where you can get information about what platform a train leaves from?

Reason is that I have 8 minutes to change from one train to another. Shocked

The station in question is Reading.

Not sure even the train driver knows himself until the morning he starts work!!!???!!?? Could be wrong though.

But don't fret, just jump out of train and ask the closest train station employee to ask. Had the same situation before and it was 6 minutes between trains.

8 minutes is plenty of time for Reading, can easily get to the info boards and back again. Got a feeling they've got at least one screen on each platform showing the others, anyway.

You can find out from the monitors on the platforms and around the station which have train times and platforms. 8 minutes shouldn't be a problem, 4 minutes at Reading between trains is enough to go out the barriers to an ATM without missing the train.

What station is it going to?

8 minutes is enough time to join the Reading clique, then find the next train!

He's going from blackwater to durham to pick up a car then drive it back in one day. About a 600 mile round trip. Has to beat my time of 4 hours 45 back including one stop of 15 minutes. Cool (by car)

My girlfriend had 6 minutes to change at Reading last week, but her train was 10 mins late arriving at Reading. That mucked her plans up.

I like at least 15mins to change, quite often trains are 5/10mins late. Once I had 30mins for an a London change using the Underground, which wasn't enough

I can remember doing a stint of closely timed train changes across london the see my (former) other half when they were in hospital.

Left work at 17:00 in Wallington, dash to the station (across the road luckily) to catch the 17:04 to London Bridge. Get into London Bridge, then a dash to the Northern Line to Kings Cross.
Dash from Kings Cross tube, to the overground to take a train to Pamlers Green. Get to Palmers Green, swift power mince to the o/h's place to pick up their car. Drive from Palmers Green to Chase Farm Hospital (Enfield). Spend the night with him. Then head home about 11pm.
Then reverse the whole journey on the morning.

I got really ill as I only had one meal a day as the train times were so close I couldn't stop off to eat anywhere!
