After a year of hassle the 3rd party as finally admitted full responsibility for the accident!

This has taken since Dec 2004 for them to get that far!

Now I need to put claims in for damages for the Items! However Cause I got them from a mates shop at a knock down price I don’t have a receipt!

Although, the lid was £200.

Can anyone send us a copy of a receipt for a lid so I can stick it in my claim?

Cheers

You are usually asked to provide receipts if you can, if not you can provide evidence of cost, such as adverts with prices that match the ruined kit. That's what I did for my claim, I'd not kept the receipts when I moved house.

Nice one mate Thumbs Up

Same thing happened to me today - got home to find a letter from the solicitor telling me the 3rd party insurers have accepted liablity.

So here comes some money - £550 excess, £1000+ quoted to replace gear plus expenses and compensation.

As for your receipts - you don't need them. Just go to a bike shop and ask them to do an insurance quote for replacement gear. I went to Infinity in Guildford and they were very, very good Wink

I had to pay £5 but that is refundable if you buy your stuff from them. It's worth it because they quoted each item at it's full RRP. Send that quote with photos o your damaged gear to your solicitor and let him handle it.

And don't just claim for your lid, claim for boots, leathers and gloves as well if you were wearing them.

I'm having a few beers tonight to celebrate Very Happy

You should be able to ask your insurance company to recover the excess for you if you've got legal insurance as well.

Yeah that's well worth doing. I did the same thing with Dobles, but there they didn't charge me anything and said I could have 10% off anything when I came back Thumbs Up

They also quote very good prices Laughing
