The TRF (Trail Riders Fellowship) is the place for you to look Wink

I go laning regularly in my Landy and will no doubt take in some lanes on the bike in the summer. I have loads of routes mapped around north and mid wales, mainly in the Berwyns and down around the Elan Valley.

The government is starting to crack down on certain lanes now mainly RUPPS and lanes with unproven vehicular rights, but there are still plenty of trails left although the problem is they will get damaged and eventually suffer due to over use leading to local authorities using temporary restriction orders. To add to the confusion some lanes have seasonal restrictions too !

Best bet it to get an OS map of the area you want to go to and then contact the local council highways officer with the grid ref's of the tracks you'd like to use. They will then confirm the status so you are water tight should anyone try to question you.

Also worth checking out GLASS (Green Lane ASSociation) and LARA as along with the TRF these are the main organisations fighting to keep the lanes open.
