Rating system?

can somebody tell me how the giving out a rateing works please,
i have given out 2 positive ratings today and it now says i cant give any more ratings?
thuis is the first time this has happened and im not sure what its all about,
how long before i can rate? is it a type of a ban ? did ido wrong?
why onyl 2 ratings allowed in a day now, when i have given out more than that on other days?

When people rate your posts you get some karma points. You can use these points to rate other peoples posts.

If you don't have enough spare points, you can't rate any posts.

You can get points in other ways too, like from your posting frequency, spelling, lack of swearing... and stuff like that.

Can i revoke some of my ratings i gave 12 months ago and have them points back now?

Haha, I wouldn't recommend it. When one of your ratings is revoked, you lose a bunch of karma points!

Does it work like that Suzuki?

The system we had a long time ago did, I wasn't aware this one does, don't know how it works, so it may do.

I thought a daily limit was calculated from some complex formula or similar; never had a problem with it so never considered it really.

I think you get 10 every 24 hours and that's your lot, maximum 20 every 48 hours.

The only thing that bothers me about the rating system is the fact you spend a lot of time and effort posting getting it a little greener, one or two people don’t like something and it drops dramatically. It means that if only a handful of people don’t agree with an opinion, say within a month, you aren’t going to reach a respectable level, the only way to do this however is to kiss ass with everyone and agree with everything.

I think i got my yellow blobs because I used to do a lot of fairly long posts

I dont do so many now, but i think the weighting systm favours people who write a few paragraphs rather than put a few lines.

im not sure who (maybe rookie) but someone did a huge post in testing that looked like a cut and paste and his karma went up

the one thing i'd say for you killa, is you tend to let arguments drag out rather than just exchange a few curt words, you also let people provoke you a bit

but i think people are in the habbit of picking on you a bit

Just dont rate when it tells you you cant rate and its all rosy. My account is always getting the "you cannot rate anymore posts today" but thats just because I rate rather than post usually.

I swear in most of my posts and have been on 1 goldy for a while, maybe thats what gets the marks down. But meh, gold green what does it matter.
