I've stuck the phone number into google but it doesnt show up.

Withhold number, and ring em, as soon as they announce who they are /the name of the company etc put the phone down.

i used to do date cleansing on records for telemarketing so I am hardened to such difficult tasks as ringing a company and asking who they are and what they do
