Well I thought it was hillarious.

Do they really ask those sorts of questions for GCSE? A 3-4-5 triangle was one of the things you were expected to just know (and state without any working out whilst solving more complicated problems) when I did my exams - back in the days of the abacus, cue violin, etc.

It made me laugh out loud as well, when I saw it.

In a university exam, you would get full marks for that answer.

It was a bad question. Should have been "Determine the value of x." or "Calculate x.". They 'keyword' in the question does not tell you what to do.

In one of our Exams at vet school they asked "List five structures you would not be able to feel on rectal examination of the Mare (female horse)."

Answers forthcoming included such structures as eyeballs, teeth and nose. They had to mark these correct.

What they had MEANT to ask was "List five structures you would be able to feel on rectal examination of the stallion that you would not find in the mare."
