This isnt for me but i have just been having a chat with a freind who needs some advise.

He will be receiving 6 points on his provisional , now i know this will mean either a ban or having his license revoked?
Is it better to take the revoke or the ban for his insurance in the future?
Also can somebody explain what happens after his court date?
IE if he has the revoked licence hen then needs to apply for his provisional again then do his cbt? or does he just have to redo his cbt?
I suppose the licence still comes back with the 6 points showing so how does the insurance take this revoked action that will show up on his licence?

Sorry for all the questions but he seems a bit worried.

I would say have it revoked.

After court he needs to apply for provisional, take cbt and bike test again. You only need to take one test and you get them both back (ie car and bike test, take bike and you get the car back too)

What were the points for. Naught boy. Razz

He ran into the back of another scoot that had just knocked a woman down, so they have done him for driving without due care and attention.

I'm led to believe you can aquire up to 12 points on a provisional licence, only when it becomes a full licence does the 2 year rule kick in. So if he was to get one more point after he'd have his licence revoked under the New Drivers Act.

Hope this helps

Hi

Davo is right. He has 12 points available on his provisional licence. The 6 point limit only applies from when they pass their test.

Should he pass his test though then he will loose his licence should he get any more points at all.

All the best

Keith

as others have said its 12 point on provisional, but even if it was 6, doing a cbt again to get another provisional license isnt expensive or tricky
