Just wondering... Say your bike has a chrome water transfer pipe runing allong the side of the engine, can it be subsituted for rubber? (the "hot" end allready comes out of a rubber tube + obviously it would be the same diameter)
The end going into the waterpump has an o ring and is secured by the hose clamps.. the other end just a jubilee clip and rubber hose into the rad..

Could the "pipe/pump" interface be changed so its threded and the pipe screws in? even if a short length of metal pipe comes out and the rubber part is clipped on..

Really wanted to check that radiator hose is capable of side of engine kinds of tempretures?

(Theres good reason for doing it btw Razz )

No reason why not as long as it is a hot water pipe, Can't think of many cars that have just metal pipes. Problem with threading a water pipe is corrosion. If you did go down that route then your idea of of a small threaded steel pipe might be the better idea.

Now i think of it...

The part that i was thinking could use a threded type.. dosn't need it.. the pipe wont ever need to come off, so could proabbly use some jbweld or similar to attach it perminently! (could solder it perhaps, like a plumbers use on copper pipe?) the hose then goes on the end..

The pic shows the area i mean, this is the return from the radiator.. the circled is where the chrome pipe attaches to the water pump houseing..

Hopefully will be easyer than i thought Razz
