As i'm quite poor at the minute, i was wondering if it was possible to connect a normal 5.1 surround sound PC speaker system to my car Very Happy

You can buy those convertors to allow you to plug your mains (240v) plug into your cigarette lighter but would it be possible to connect the speakers to the head unit? I have a pretty decent head unit, but i just wanted to know if anybody else has been silly enough to try it?

You can get car speakers pretty cheaply. What you suggest would be technically possible, but if they are mains power it's probably going to cost more than just getting some cheap car speakers; and with a fair bit worse results I would have thought.
