I use WinAVI - it does it all with minimum effort. I'm sure you can come by a copy from one of the usual 'outlets'... Smile

Or buy a DVD player that plays AVI files.

Could wait for daz to reply, but I can reccomend VSO divx to DVD (avi files converted to dvd quickly with very good quality picture and sound ). Teaman reccomended it also in another thread some time ago.

Anyway, here is a cracked version. Try it out see if it does the job!

I use it to convert my 'Lost' avi files so i can watch it on my dvd player in the living room...widescreen ya know! Laughing

I use NeoDVD. This gives me the option of making my own menus. The new Nero is reported to do this too.

Or alternatively use VSO DivX to DVD that is good you get all the quality but no menu I'm afraid.

[Edit] You beat me to it Tokarev. Clapping [/Edit]

So to put all of my 700mb+ films onto dvd's (all are avi, some are dvix and what not) I will use winavi (got it) to convert and then dvd shrink to get them onto dvd. Good stuff, thanks. Always found the quality rubbish when you shrink them so never bothered putting them onto dvd as the point of dvd = good quality.

I have tried converting Avi/mpeg to DVD before and got horrible results. Confused Not sure which programs I used though. I'll give some of the ones mentioned a try. Thumbs Up At the moment I play AVI files straight off my PC onto my TV and the quality is very good. But it would be handy to have them on DVD too.

I used to use Nero encode or something like that. Horrible results, unacceptable really and it took 4 hours to encode and burn from a straight avi.

I have a 80gb Hard Drive filled with films and I really need space so I really should start recording them onto dvd soon. 119 films I think it is. Sad

I just used the VSO DivX to DVD that tokarev posted to burn Aeon Flux on to a DVD; took just over an hour, and the quality is just the same as the source as far as I can tell.

Top stuff.

Thumbs Up

Herbal - I'm the one with the 120 odd films sitting on my hard drive. They're all about 720mb big, maybe 2 or 3 1.35gb or so. Not dire quality whatsoever to me!

Trueblue what kind of pc do you have m8 .Just so people understand you do need a pretty powerfull pc to convert films well .I would personaly say a pent 4 or Amd 2000xp or higher

I currently have a AMD64 with 1 gig of ram so its pretty fast for me

I have an AMD Athlon 3200 and 1Gb Ram. I found the picture quality when transferred to DVD was very poor, much worse than the source video.

I also have 12 episodes of LOST series 2 .An have put them all onto 1 dvd like 5 hours of LOST its sweet .

be interesting to know what bitrate you got them to?
as to retain proper quality they must be at least Video Bitrate3150 kbit/sec. and at that rate its only possible to get 4 episodes on 1 DVD.

And just out of curiosity why do you bother converting them when it seems you have access to be able to download the real DVDs?

And tizer and robB if you need any new xbox loaders menu's or other xbox tools give us a shout.
