Has anyone used AMS Motorcycles? - Not the one in Cheltenham, these guys are in Charvil just outside Reading.

Just wondering if anyone's got experience/heard of them?

Their website says they'll do a full service for £190, thats £235 less than MTC... is that a bargain or do you get what you pay for:?

I suspect this may be because MTC are *extremely* good at what they do. They pay attention to detail, and they even do things like lube your sidestand, the clutch actuator on the clutch case lube your cables etc.

You could give it a go by way of a test, I suspect they'll do an acceptable service its just that MTC are very very good.

It also might be worth checking if they have accredited Suzuki mechanics, because MTC are accredited by Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki and Triumph.

Give them a go, but mark the oil filter with tippex, and mark the spark plugs and air filter if you can by scratching them or something. Then match these up to the work claimed on the docket.

Plus it might be worth telling them the *specific* service that you want (IE 12000 mile or whatever) so that you can match up the work done with the service book.

Go, Mystery shopper! Bring back information! Smile

Good plan.

Service booked, I'll mark everything up before and see how it goes... wish my bike luck Shocked

Any idea how I can check if they've done the valve clearances? I suppose I could mark the bolts on the cover and see if they've taken it off?

Umm. Did you *specifically* ask to have valve clearances done? cos I'd be very surprised if they get done for that price...

I'd say that the definition of a 'full service' is different for MTC as it is for these people. Plus it might well be that your bike has not yet reached the point where it needs valve clearances done. MTC would probably do them as a matter of course.

I looked at their site and it says an *average* price for servicing... an average service definitely doesn't include valve clearances IMO.
