Following on from looking at a hornet earlier ( see other post )
I rang bennets and got a quote
Fully comp was £750... Shocked ...
Im 32 FFS, not 21.
That seems pretty steep to me.
What you lot paying ( roughly will do, dont want to be too personal Razz )

You better stop taking my karma before I kick you in the shin.

CIA were beaten and Bennetts are usually crap. Norwich Union are also crap.

I've heard that Swinton are good.

I am with 4Counties, paying £380 TPFT with breakdown cover and legal cover (I think) at 17 with 1NCB on a Kawasaki ER5.

Area is F*.

4Counties are expensive for me. They were more expensive than I'm paying now and I quoted with an extra years NCB for renewal time.

I suppose it gets to a point when they stop discounting.

I shopped about for my insurance when I changed to my 2002 hornet. I am 35 and have fully comp insurance costing me £296 a year but then I do live on the Isle of Wight which is considered to be a lower risk area of theft I would imagine.
BTW my insurance is with Equity Red Star if this helps and they offer me breakdown cover, courtesy bike if mine is out action and I am covered for use of other vehicles with owners consent oh and all the usual legal cover stuff Thumbs Up

18, in coventry GPZ500s
3 claims to my name,

paying £764 with A quote..

Bennetts wanted £1200 from me.

Spent 4 hours on the phone and bartered between companies..

and in the end I pitched 'paul' against a 'steve' from A quote who both wanted the comission..at this point it as reducing by a few quid.

got a year's AA cover too which is damn handy!

do we really need fully comp on a bike that is only worth £1.5k ?
I dont think i do.
Im covered if it gets nicked, covered if its set on fire, covered if i bend someones bonnet with my head !. If i throw it into a hedge then its my own fault for being stupid and i will fix it myself.
TPFT seems to cover everything i need.

I agree, fully comp is pointless on older bikes, especially since you'd then have a claim on your history for fixing your bike up..so may cost more in long run..

my insurance costs almost as much as I paid for the bike... Neutral
