Right, ive got a tenner to blow at halfrauds next monday,

Greg suggested some autosol and polish my rims...

Sounded a little too gay for me, so i started thinking - Came up with this.

Polish my exhaust to make the end can silver, completely.

A quick artists impression has generated this colour marhtced model Whilst the gritter lorry is flailing out grit all over the place and against the side of my dads Land Cruiser... any way hes gone now, soo yeah...

I like it the way it is, although mine looks like that so I'm slightly biased. Could just be the pants artwork you did, but it just doesn't look right Laughing

Can I ask how you expect to acheive the desired look?

Dont realy know - If enough people thought that this looked better than the original, i would be asking that question.

Im not 100% convinced myself, But i was thinking that autosol would do it? Same stuff people use to do their rims? I dont know if this is possible or what?

Will this stuff even polish up? Confused It would be interesting to know, as Thundercats have this finish. Even if it does, I imagine it's going to be a bitch to do without a lathe or whatever to polish it up.

Well I didn't know it was like that underneath, in my opinion you would be better off doing the downpipes too and all along there because it won't look as wierd, or alternatively go the whole hog and buy a full stainless system Razz But I would just spend the tenner on a cheapo toolkit or maybe some polish or wax and just make your bike so shiny and clean you could eat your tea off it.

If you were that way inclined. Laughing

I don't think the autosol is going to bring the black pipework up to look like the silver stainless steel cover. Just buy a full stainless steel exhuast, will look better and need much less looking after as polished stuff needs keeping clean and regular polishing.

I suspect the black bits are mild steel. If you polish them, they will go rusty very quickly (within a couple of hours if the humidity is high).

Use your tenner for wheel trim tape or some tarty thing like that, wouldnt try to polish the exhaust as there is no way you'll get an even finish. Wink

Incidentally, I'd use the tenner for a load of those fiddly wee consumables that you never have when you need them.

eg. Cable ties, gaffa tape, PVC tape, threadlock, fuel line and so on.
