passed yesterday 1st time and over the moon! Feels better than when i passed my car test 11 years ago
Looking for a 600 sports to start with (i think) and will be doing some more training too
Has anyone been on the bikesafe course (think its called that, about £30 or £40 for the day?) and what about the Blue Ribbon BMF advanced riders course, worth doing?

i may well get shot for this, but either an R6 or GSXR600
hence the plan for extra riding tuition

I'm after an R6 too as a first, i hear many say it's a bad idea but then i think about people i know going to Fireblades & r6's & also there are a few on the forum who made the jump.

Just worried about the first time pulling away.

yeah me too, should be a whole new experience compared the the ER-5 i learned on
Glad someone has a few good words to say about new riders and fast(ish) bikes, i joined another forum and got nothing but sh1t for wanting an R6, then reading into it most of those commenting either didnt ride, were still learning or seemed to dislike sports bikes
IMO the bikes only a silly as you choose to go

I've thought about it & read on loads of forums about 'r6 for 1st bike' & you do get the members saying it's a bad idea, you can understand why. I've never ridden anything faster then my test bike 'Cg125' so obviously it's going to be weird but thats the same with everything, i'm sure it's fine after a few miles.

A man i know went onto a Fireblade, he moved here from Africa so he never owned a car or anything lol, this is what i think of when people say it's a bad idea, hes still riding it now. I don't know alot about them but i'm sure the members on here who had a 600 for a 1st will comment.

Well i use my bike everyday for commuting and did not want extreme sports bike, my CBR 600 FY will do 160 and it's not slow to get there. Get whatever bike fits your needs and remember the bike will only go as fast as you want.
