Hello folks,

Having a problem with the twistgrip/throttle cable. I've had the twistgrip, inner slidder ( correct term?) replaced and the throttle cable cleaned etc, but still the twistgrip /throttle sticks i.e wont return if you let it go. I even tried putting some grease in the housing, no luck!

How do you adjust the throttle cable and make the twistgrip return properly etc? Is there a beginners guide somewhere i can read or buy etc?

Hope this makes sense

Thanks for your help

Bill

If the bar isn't bent, try just loosening the screws off a little and wiggling stuff around then re-tightening.

It is possible to trap the throttle grip in the housing, there's a 'sticky-up bit' that the cable slots into and this can foul the body of the switch housing if they're not lined up properly before tightening the screws (I'm assuming a standard Jap type throttle/switch assembly here)

Not sure what kind of carb(s) you've got, but you may want to check the spring return on the carb to make sure it's not misaligned or stuck. It sounds like the the cable itself is not pulling the throttle sleeve back to it's resting position.

Make sure the throttle assembly is lined up straight with the handlebar, too! Hope this helps!
