plastic weld for fairing panels

NatV4 sent me a copy of RIDE's 'how to...' on plastic welding, but what I would like to know is would the weld be strong enough for a joint that holds the fairing to the bike? My fairing came off at the weekend, and it ripped the three tabs that screws go through to fix the top half of the fairing. I'm thinking this would be silly without fibreglass maybe? Any ideas, tips... anything?

have you got any pics of the damage?

what part of the faring is broken the 3 bolts across the lower part of the mid faring?? i dout plastic welding would be strong enough to hold it if the farings as snapped completly off, better to use plastic welding for cracks or small peices of faring.

best bet would be fiber glass

I thought that might be the case, a new fairing piece is £62.25 and decals cost £30 from Honda, I've never done decals before so a bit nervous about messing it up! But I suppose it's better than doing all the fibreglass work on the original fairing panel only to have it fly off again!

ive know too many people that the fairings have blown off on, including myself.
Once its been plastic welded, i have been told to make a small bracket to hold the 2 together.

maybe a semi naked bike would be better that is what I am thinking later on (fazer,cbf1000) have a fairing on the way from honda and £98 ouch,so I have a spare one when the old one is repaired
