Divvy 600 Exhaust swap.

The collectors are totally shot on the downpipes on my Divvy 600N so I've ordered a Motad 4-1 system which should turn up in the next day or so (with Gaskets). The current rear sections look relatively ok but I'm not sure how to test them so I've decided to swap the whole system out. They'll probably end up on E-Fence if they seem to be ok. Smile

I need to fit the system myself over the next few days (probably this weekend) and was after some general advice from anyone who has done this before so I don't mess anything up removing the old pipes or damage the engine block or bike frame in any way. Will I need to jack the bike up? If so, what's the best way of doing this with a Divvy? There doesn't appear to be anywhere that I can squeeze a trolley jack under on the frame or the engine block. Will I need any additional jointing gunk to seal the system?

Any advice from those who have done this before would be greatly appreciated.

I replaced my entire exhaust sytem on my divvy 6 about 6 months ago and it isn't too tricky really.

No need to jack it up, just leave it on the centre stand.
The trickiest bit I found was removing the nuts from the top end of the system, years of salt etc had stuck them solid.
Half a tin of plus gas later and a shed load of swearing and they were all off.(Try and use a decent set of allen keys otherwise you risk burring the heads over.
Remember to copper slip the threads when replacing to save the hassle again!

Removing the rest of the system is fairly simple, and nothing obstructs access the the nuts n bolts you need to get to.

Main advice is take your time and be methodical.

(And dont lose and nuts!) I lost one which kind hampered the replacement till i found a new one!
