125cc to 250cc

hi i'm new to this forum as i decided i really could do with some help

at the moment i am riding a cagiva planet 125, i have been riding this for a few months and found this a fun and exciting bike to ride.

as i am hoping to do my test very soon, i am thinking about swapping the 125cc engine for a 250cc engine within the bike.

i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of how i should go about this.

There are ways you can do it, but they usually involve a lot bodging.
It's usually much, much more cost efficient to get a new bike.

Generally, if you have to ask how to do it, it's probably not a good idea Smile

its not so much a how, but more of a "which engine would be best suited.

Doesn't the Planet share the same engine and chassis as the Mito? If so, there's someone who recently posted up their 350cc YPVS project Wink

yea the planet does, i would love to do this but as i am 17 and just about to do my test i can only ride a 33bhp unless no one knows about it???

all of the two stroke 250 engines that are worth mentioning make way over 33bhp.

My TZR is a 1986 and considered to be a lower power model. It makes around 45bhp.
