If I save a file, either from the internet or from a program, it takes ages to save on my laptop. It will stop responding briefly, on that screen, and then maybe a minute later it completes the save and all is well.
Is there any reason why this is? It's worth mentioning, about 55GB of a 60GB HDD is being used. Could this be the problem?
Thanks'en. |

Defrag
Also remember that your pagefile takes up a fair amount of hard disk space, and some processes need a certain amount of free space to run, so you can never fill a single hard drive system with 1 partition to capacity.
I reckon you should remove some non essential items, temp files etc and then run defrag. ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/fuzzbcf/

Forgot all about this post!
It's an AMD Turion sickpup, but it's nearly always plugged into the mains, so I have it on the highest performance setting. Don't know if that would make a difference. Plus I very nearly always have either iTunes or Media Player running a video or some music, so this would stop the power management system kicking in, wouldn't it?
I think what I'll do first off is buy some decent DVDs (see other Geek Zone thread ) to burn all my films and Tv programmes and stuff onto, and then give it a defrag and see how it goes.
