Today the missus and I and our best mate took a trip to a BMW dealership to look at an 04 R1150 GS. Must admit what a lovely bike, I was quite smitten with it. I have been toying with the idea of getting a tourer/enduro for a while now and narrowed the choice down to an Aprilia Capanord and the 1150/1200 GS Adventure.

After the trip to BMW, we decided to take a trip to a big motorbike place in Blackburn, (otherwise known as astronauts go up into space in this). Gets there to look at the Capanord and these guys come up to us, so I tell them the story about the BMW and this bike.

So I start asking questions, i.e. whats the typical MPG on the bike, whats the depreciation like etc etc. All these questions and more where answered by BMW and they told me what they were going to do for me....i.e. really sold me the bike and was interested in so.

However, at the ....... Centre they were not arsed one bit that I was prepared to spend £7000 there and then and was dependent on his attitude. To say their attitude was like dog sh1t does not do it justice. They were not bothered with answering questions, being twhats basically. We all had a pop at them back and said that I was leaving to go spend my money else where.

So that was that shop experience, to which I will not be visiting anytime in the future. Anyway, to my main point....
Does anyone know anyone with a Caponord, or got any opinions on this compared to the 1150 GS. The GS is £7000 on a 53 plate done 25k miles, the Caponord I'm looking at is on a 02 plate with 13k on clock and £4295.

Any ideas greatly welcomed.

I've never had a prob with that shop...been going there before they got the bigger place.
My bike goes there for its servicing and its always done on time and done right and the prices are right too.
Many of my freinds are of the same opinion as me.
All bike shops can't suit everyone so don't write them off.

It was just the sales staff, last time I went there they were accomodating, this old geezer really put me off from going there again.

Its just in general, some don't really care that you want to buy a bike.

They never bother me either..but they know i'm too broke to buy a bike Embarassed ....its taking me all my time to pay off for this one lol .
I do get your point tho..sometimes their "no pressure" sales ethic is a bit too laid back.

theres laid back and then theres "cant be arsed", this guy was so useless that they could have sacked him and not noticed.
its right that you shouldnt slate a shop because of 1 employee but if youre gonna spend that much money you want to know the answers to all your questions before you part with any cash.
