XP pro Activation

Hi,

I have recently got 4 second hand Dell pc's thanks to the NHS. These had to be fully wiped clean for security reasons and I installed a genuine version of windows xp pro I had to hand on all four pc's, but I have a problem with Activating XP pro, it has been installed fine using one product key but it is not accepted by the online activation bit.

Any suggestion's as what i can do ??

to be honest mate i've never had to mess with activation or any of that bollox with ilegal keys, i've used Winborg now for years and it's perfect, Windows Xp Pro, activated, SP2, everything all on one DVD, all Apps i need and use all installed and cracked.

Uponinitiating a fresh, clean install, windows will not ask for a serial,or activation, or registration! If it does...your doing it wrong! SEEAbove!
After windows completes installation and after first reboot,the WPI Borg menu will appear for 120 seconds for you to choose yourown programs.
When you click the install button, everything you selected will be silently installed - no user interaction is required.
Ifyou do not click anywhere on the menu screen before 120 seconds haselapsed, a default selection of about 30 apps will installautomatically.
The serial and cracks folder has been updated aswell so, if your chosen app is not " cracked" then go there and get theappropriate can opener.
Any cracks with an NFO file - use thenotepad and READ IT! Any cracks\serials that I missed......Humor me -go and find them yourself!

If you get blue screen or freezes - then you may not be able to use this DVD....I tried to make it as compatible as possible
foras many machines as I could but, I can't include drivers for everyconfiguration or I would not have any space left for any apps!

Yes its all well using winborg but what do you do when new updates are released for sp2? you cant go to the update site because your windows isnt activated.

As i said if you use xp corp you dont need a cd key anyway.

Oh yes and Vista is v good i tried i for a couple of days and its seems ok but even with the added driver cd wasnt enough drivers yet for everything.

Activating is not the same as validating to get the updates .

Oh and dont forget he is using a genuine key.

either set your pc to receive updates automatically or use the Windiz site

*edit* im sure if you were that desperate for the updates then it wouldnt take 2 mins to download Opera just so you can go to the Windiz site FFS

The new Genuine Advantage tool (update KB892130) has disabled all of the known workarounds. Came out very recently, as yet it hasn't been cracked (to my knowledge, I've not looked for news but would probably have heard). Hence Daz asking if you'd found/heard of a new release.

If its a genuine key just activate it by phone.

If the automated system says its been activated too many times, speak to a customer services agent and blag that your machine had serious virus issues and you needed to reload it several times, they will usually give you an activation code.

Looks like I started some thing here

All I know is in one way or another, it works. I had a quick go with the updates on the Microsoft website and it d/l some of the critical security fixes, so for me personally I don't have a problem so thanks eveyone.

My activation crack still works. Mine is the one that spends ages finding a different product key to work with windows then activate it online with that. Just reloaded about 5 hours ago after linux wrecked my partition table for me and all the updates worked fine.
