With the 17t fitted the bike is capable of doing over 80Mph only taking about 8 seconds to get to 80mph witch is fast for a four stroke 125cc bike.

I was looking at one of these before I got the MZ, turns out they have about the same horsepower as a cg, around the 11-12 mark.

Looking at that engine it's a 4-stroke, so it won't be anything above 14bhp indeed!

My old 4-stroke 125 was 12bhp.

The siamoto is a cheesy chinese rip off with a cg motor in it. It is most definetly not rare and most definetly not fast Laughing

13 HP according to bikez.

https://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/siamoto_enduro_125_2003.php

Nice-looking little thing though. Only problem is, you'd have every spotty yoof in the neighbourhood trying to nick it in seconds.

ask the seller a question:
Quote:
from the pictures, the SX-125 seems to use the same 125 cc 4 stroke pushrod engine as used in the Hongdu, and copied from the Honda CG125. from experience this engine has a maximum power of about 14bp. can you cofirm the 24bhp you listed in the specs?

if it is indeed the CG based engine, then I'd also call into question the 80mph quote. can you confirm if the 80mph is actual, or what is reported on the spoeedo, as speedos on 125s such as this are notorious for over-reporting the speed.

if the bike is indeed as described (24bhp and genuine, not reported 80pmh) i might well be interested.

thanks
a

lets see if we get any response Very Happy

Quote:
Yes, mate is a 125cc pushrod engine but the pushrod's and C.D.I on this engine are proper mint. It is 24hp and does do 80mph even uphills and i know because i once fixed my mates scooter

Of course what he will mean is "oh, so you cogged on, oh well im hoping someone else isnt so clever. And my "mates battery flat and i charged it so now i know everything and what i say goes"

Sounds like a typical 16-17 year old saying his bike is the be-all and end-all.
Should really know when to admit your have a crap bike

The sad thing is some poor tit will go for it..

Maybe the police should be informed, i'm sure they would be interested that a 24bhp bike was being ridden on Lplates...

...

I asked him for a dyno printout and he sent me one, sold!

reply from oh-so-powerful 125 dude

Quote:
Hi

Thanks for asking me this, my mum listed this bike on eBay for me and guessed the BHP, you are right about the
engine only having 14BHP BUT I have added a sports Exhaust system witch included the header pipe as on the stock header pipe there is a restriction hole witch gives a lot of back pressure, where as on the sports header pipe there is no restriction, witch allows the exhaust gas to escape more freely giving more BHP to the engine, I have changed the carburetor too, witch gave it more BHP, this bike is quite a bit more powerful than the standard setup, so its got to me more than 14BHP. Your guess
is as good as mine on the BHP, as for the speed my friend has a Aprilia RS 125 he followed me on a long strait bit of road and told me I was doing 80MPH my Speedo said I was doing 90MPH so as you said the Speedos are notorious for it, and of course my friends Speedo could be a bit out too but I don?t know. I will add a note to my auction so that other people are aware. I hope this helps you, I don?t know how much this bike is worth now but if you would like to make an offer I will consider it

My guess is the fueling is utterly f@cked, either fouling plugs or set to go bang in an expensive way in the not too distant future (well not expensive but still)

A shame because it looks a nice little bike, but anyone buying something that had been pissed about to such an extent and not set up propperly is asking for trouble..

Yah, the 15 bhp limit bikes are supposed to have a lot of backpressure, it's how they make power. A 'sports' exhaust is unlikely to make matters any better and likely to make matters worse.
