Normally pro rata means that this would be the salary for the job if you were doing it full time (normally 37 hrs per week but could be more or less). So taking £7523 pa divide by 52 to give you the weekly wage i.e £144 pw and then divide by 37 (or whatever the standard full time hours are) equals 3.91 an hour pretty shit really. However in this case I reckon the £7523 might be the total yearly wage. It mentions that you get 4 weeks hols, but its term time only. Are these four weeks to be taken in the term or are they part of your overall time off i.e. four of the weeks you would have off as a part of school hols. I was a teaching assistant a few years ago, and I got an annual salary that was paid monthly even if the school was closed for holidays. Meant I got all of August off and got paid . Might be worth you phoning the school and clarifying the situation before you make up your mind. ____________________ "I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me."
