Well last year I had a major problem with them being in the garden, generally getting in the way and being a nuisance so we destroyed the pond.

They're back again! Shocked

What the fuck, there's nowhere for them to live yet they've returned, any idea how I can get rid of the little buggers short of making a flame thrower with a lighter and a can of deodorant?

The only downside I can see to having frogs in your garden is when you want to mow the lawn.

Our neighbours have a pond, and for a few months of every year we get loads of their frogs in our garden. It's a real pain in the arse having to constantly move baby frogs around the garden so they don't get chopped up whilst i'm using the lawn mower Rolling Eyes I also wonder whether it's traumatic for them when you have a mother and babies, and you have to move them one at a time (hence separating them temporarily). I'm so wet I know Embarassed

You know, if you sit a frog in cold water and slowly heat the water, it won't jump out. It will just sit there, stewing alive. If you plunk it in hot water, it'll get the hell outta there!

Stewed frog for dinner, anyone?

Obviously instincts have told them to return to where they were last year, I'm hoping they're going to sit around going wtf no pond for an hour then fuck off, failing that we're going to play a game called how many frogs can you fit through JP's (distortion) letter box.

I'd say just mow the lawn anyway.... and do your bit for the environment by "recycling" the resulting organic matter for your garden?? Thumbs Up

(Only joking... and don't let my step-daughter find out I suggested that, cos she's obsessed with Wildlife SOS/animal cruelty programmes) Wink

fill the pond in for a year so they cant return to breed,

but you really shouldnt those poor lil froggies have hopped miles to get back to that little pond where they were spawned and grey from tadpoles into lil hop alongs.

just don't tell your council, as if you ever try and build or do anything with your back garden I'm sure they'll thing of the frogs and stop you doing anything lol

Yea, they're probably there out of habit, maybe breeding?

How many are we talking?

Still, count yourself a bit lucky; while I was living in south africa we had the same problem but with bull frogs. They were massive and weren't shy of jumping at you if annoyed. Not so nice when they drowned (think they used to fight) in the pool, even bigger!

This one is a toad rather than a frog (i think), but cool all the same.

Found it in Annabella's parent's back garden. Smile

Hi,

At my parents house they never had apond and lived a fair hop from the nearest water but we always had loads of frogs, they liked living under the patio.

Our labrador use to carry them round, occasionaly they would hop down her throat and she would look really surprised.

There are there for ever you are cursed with frogs...

Regards
C

If you kill a frog, a few days later, it's stomach swells up like an inflated balloon. When it bursts, the gases that are released have the foulest smell you could ever imagine!

I think that's about the same for most things that die and are left to the elements...
