I generally thought the religious types in the US were on the sides of the armed forces.

Thats one group of people I would liked to see burned to death in their own church.

Americans, a confusing bunch to say the least!

I've always wanted to go over there, but they always seem to do everything to extremes! I suppose having one of the largest communities in the world, you will come across the occassional 'fruit cake' but the US seems to have more than it's fair share.

The concept that the death of a serviceman is the result of homosexual activity is almost amusing, I mean, was the deceased serviceman even homosexual himself?

The picketing was by the Westboro Baptist Church, which is well known to be a bunch of attention seeking rabid anti-gay fundamentalists who believe themselves to be the chosen ones to judge all mankind alongside god when kingdom come happens; they run godhatesfags.com (I'm not linking that) and made a lot of noise claiming the Boxing Day Tsunami was a punishment for god because there were Swedes present (a priest was being tried for homophobic remarks in Sweden at the time).

They're a pretty small if very vocal group, fortunately, so with a bit of luck they'll crawl back under whichever rock they came from once they no longer get on television

I thought it was just a small group of 'chumps' with nothing better to do, but they are really serious. That's disturbing.

Any form of religious pressure on any community should not be allowed. Opinions are part of human nature, are all are entitled to their own, but should that give us the right to attempt to enforce those opinions on those who don't share the same ones as you?

The Serviceman who's funeral it was had died whilst supporting a struggle to maintain peoples right to have, and indeed voice their opinions. Isn't it ironic that they chose enforce their opinions at the funeral of a man who gave his life so people can continue to be able to have opinons in a free world?

Homophobia is nothing less then oppression.

The churchs here are geting scary, they had some cunt come on the tv(catholic) and say that borders need to be closed and all non americans sent back and america should be alone and blah blah blah.

They put tvs in churchs and coment on how other countries need to be converted and how there way is the only way.

They do that they should give it back to the indians and all shoot them selves. I hear one more joke against the british people im gonna beat them shit less.

What gets me most about religion is that given the fact they are supposed to be promoting peace, understanding and an attitude of love thy neighbour they spend an awful lot of time arguing and killing each other.

This pretty much applies to all religions, a lot of the wars in history have their roots in religious hatred and intolerance.
