I've just downloaded series 1-8 of south park, but alas, I can only hear them. The video doesn't work. It's a .rm file, I've tried downloading real player, had real alternative and using windows media player and classic.

Anyone help? Not sure what other information I can give!

Thanks in advance!

opt for free player and when it comes to install just untick install divx player and leave the codecs to install. that should work

With .rm files it's usually RealPlayer that you need, because this is what they are made for. When I am watching South Park most open with Winamp or use DivX player, and trust me I watch them alot so I should know Wink

Just out of interest why have you not got Series 9?

I get the same problem with avi files. The only solution I have found is to re-encode them in Virtualdub. I'm not missing the codecs to play the audio - GSpot reports multiple codecs installed to play them. Still investigating.....

I never understand why people have problems with codecs? instale ace mega codecs and make sure you instal it as pro version and it has never ever not played any type of movie, even mobile phone and ipod stuff.

I don't understand it either. I've had loads of different codec packs installed - Gordian knot, Kazaa, Ace - and they have all worked to encode with, but non of them have solved the problem with not being able to hear sound on some, even ones I have encoded myself a few months earlier. Confused

I noticed with ace codecs it doesn't let you scan through the video very easily though, its a lot slower than without the pack. Confused

A lot depends on wht you are watching at different times ie if its a divx 1 min then a mpg straight after it, the best way to stop that happening is to open the acemega dash board and at the bottom you will see a box with 2 ticks in it, just click it and it re applys all the settings.
