Well for those that haven't heard about or watched this film yet all i can say is go and see it!
Its not fantastic and its slightly over dramatised, it also takes a lot of liberty's with the truth.
My only way to describe this film in my words is "its a really NICE film"
I cant write reviews but i did a bit of hunting and found this link ..

https://www.allamericanindianmotorcycleclub.com/all_american_indian_motorcycle_club_220.htm

They do a much better review than i could hope to do.

A definite must see for anybody with a true love of what motorbiking is all about.

Cool bikes, salt flat racing, a kiwi icon hero type, and gung-ho-fullness. Hoorah!

I bought a copy from a chinaman in the caff yesterday. It better not be dodgy Shocked

Ain't got round to watching it yet.

Was gonna take me bloke to the cinema to see it, buy him lots of popcorn and gutrot fizzy drinks and act like kids ... but he can't eat popcorn at the moment cos he's had a bunch of teeth out Sad so now we can snuggle up in bed and watch it at his place tomorrow night.

Am quite looking forward to that Thumbs Up

Here is my 'Film 2006 Review!'

Well, got to see the film on Sunday morning at Gun Wharf Quays, Portsmouth.
After checking the four other cinemas in the area this was the only one that was showing it (and that was only 4 showings per day!)

It is a fantastic film. Anthony Hopkins plays Burt Munro, and, if you suspend disbelief at his occasionally shaky Kiwi accent, the character comes across very well.

The majority of the film tells of Burt's struggle to get to the Bonneville Salt Flats to see how fast his 40 year old Indian motorbike will go, you get an idea of the financial cost and physical struggle he faced to achieve his dream.

He meets up with several characters in his journey and you get an insight into Burt's values and determination to see his dream through.
He comes across as the typical 'innocent abroad' and is rewarded by the majority of people he meets with their help and belief in his quest.
I must admit there were a couple of occasions where I got a bit misty eyed and filled up.

The film is not an out and out 'biker' film but the scenes with the bikes in are well shot and give some idea of the incredible risks that were taken for the record to be broken.

It reminded me of the film 'Seabiscuit' but with just a few more horses!
I thoroughly recommend this film, and it's a shame that it will have to wait 12 months for the Oscars to come around again - hopefully it won't be forgotten.

I must warn you that I get the feeling that the film won't be in the cinemas for too long - I mean it only came out on Friday and it was a right pain to find a cinema that was showing it!
