people treat the bikes for sale section the same way as they would all the other sections.

often this means that at least one person on here will start picking holes and slating the bike or the seller

in 125ccsportsbikes, the seller posts their description and pics and the thread is closed. enquiries are then dealt with by pm's, as no one can post comments on the thread

i think this is far more sensible

im not quite sure how its done but I think its better than a public slanging match when someone tries to sell their bike.

i think we shd have that on bcf

I agree to a certain degree but useful questions are worth showing.

then the following 7 threads all had geniune good questions about the item for sale, i,m sure their was more but didnt bother looking as it seems that with a bit of effort they good posts are their to be found.

How about someone designing a form to fill in to post up a bike for sale.

Perhaps a sticky with instructions on what to include in the post with regards to bike details.

I do agree that many posts on here turn into a flame war when someone's just trying to sell their bike, but often it's because of some contradiction in terms which leads people to believe that it's a dodgy seller trying it on.

Or how about a php page with a data entry form for selling a bike that asks all common questions and then posts it in here, nicely standardised and formatted D:

I think it's a good idea. As long as the original poster can still edit the post after it's 'locked'.
