MY 2 Bikes XJ & CG

Yamaha XJ600 1989 still working on it for the summer when im sitting my test so will have this to ride on all day as the sun shines. i saved this from the scrap yard last november, Nearly ready for its mot.

Thanks for the comments, the screen on the cg is actualy a Kawasaki AR125 screen. it fit perfect only needing slight side slimming to avoid the tank hitting it on turning, simply fixes to the existing headlight bracked with a "L" shaped bracket, its fab for wind shield and rain.

Wow That is some turnaround!!!

Good to see a bike going to a good home!

What did you use to get the wheels and other ally bits cleaned up, besides hardwork and dedication?

Used some of that magic pound shop abrasive paste on the hard imbedded marks and used a mixture of " Stardrops" cleaning agent with hot water.

I also used an engine degreaser and it was that £1 shop again , the spay can from carpride i think, it may look cheap but it works!

I blew up one of those XJ600's in Derbyshire..it used all its oil and the oil warning light didn't work..was interesting trying to ride it home after...was smoke and noises coming from every part of the engine lol

XJ600s are fantastic bikes! I successfully killed mine, but they'll easily lean until you actually mangle the pegs.

I actually had to fit different pegs on mine because I completely wrecked the OE ones. In fact they were off a Hayabusa

Looks very nice, you've done a good job. Give yourself a pat on the back!

Shark sticker looks aweful, as do the grips, and I'm not sure I'd trust that front tyre. I assume none of those were your work though.

Mirrors look a little odd, certainly different to the ones I had on mine, mine had a beautiful tinted screen too.

Bloody well done mate, that is a drastic improvement on it's previous state!

It must be a great feeling to save a bike like that. Would love to so that myself.
